Kara Strauss holding hands with skeleton

My name is Kara, and I am here to help.

There is no judgement, no wrong answer, and no doubt in what you feel.

I began my career many moons ago, hoping to change the face of corporate America. When that didn't pan out, I returned to my original dream of becoming a physical therapist. In school, I gravitated towards "alternative" therapies such as yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, and anything incorporating mindfulness.

After graduating with my Doctorate, I have earned certifications in Advanced Dry Needling, Pilates, Yoga. I have also pursued extensive advanced education in the pelvic floor, and am passionate about treating the many diagnoses that it may entail.

I love teaching. While each patient is unofficially my student (please, give me a reason to get out my anatomy texts), I also teach holistic care and pain psychology for the Georgia State University DPT program.

My practice is ever evolving as I learn and grow, but what I can promise is that I will always treat you as the whole, entire super human that you are.

The Credentials

Kara (she/her) graduated from The Georgia State DPT program in 2012, and has continued her education since then. She is certified to teach Yoga (RYT-200) and Pilates (CPI). She has an advanced certification in Dry Needling, and has pursued further specialization in Pelvic Health, and visceral manipulation.

Kara enjoys teaching almost as much as she enjoys learning. She currently teaches an elective for the GSU DPT program where she introduces the science and psychology of pain through a number of holistic topics. She also is a teaching assistant with The Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. Her educational approach is apparent in how she treats her patients as well.

In addition to traditional therapies, Kara also utilizes her yoga and Pilates training, Visceral Manipulation techniques, and sometimes you may even see her swinging from the rafters on aerial equipment. Her variety of traditional and holistic specialties help her to find the unique combination of treatments that work for each individual client.
